Bass Strait Kayak for Kids
Our journey across Bass Strait isn't going to be a paddle in the park – it'll be a true test of endurance, skill, and teamwork. This 330km crossing involves navigating some of the world's most challenging waters, hopping between islands and facing several daunting open ocean crossings, the longest stretching a gruelling 70km.
Bass Strait is a place of stark contrasts: its beauty is undeniable, but its treacherous nature is equally formidable. Successfully completing this challenge will require more than just strong arms and a kayak; it demands patience, strategic thinking, and the wisdom to know when to push forward and when to respect the power of the wind and swell. We'll need to carefully judge when to paddle and when to seek shelter, constantly adapting to the ever-changing conditions.
What makes this adventure even more special is that we're sharing it with two incredible young women who are as passionate about this challenge as they are about the cause we're supporting. Their dedication and enthusiasm are an inspiration to us all. We're so excited to embark on this journey with them, knowing that every stroke we take brings us closer to our goal of helping kids in need.
