VARIETY FEDERAL GROUP TASBASH
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
By completing an entry form you acknowledge receipt and agree to observe these conditions and all subsequent amendments and additions. Failure to observe these conditions may lead to the cancellation of any entry.

- Variety Tasmania is Variety - the Children’s Charity Tent 78 Tasmania Inc ABN 22 532 462 253
- Team Captain is the person responsible of the vehicle and the team members. They are also the liaison and communication officer between Variety Tasmania and their Crew Members.
- Crew is the members of a TasBash team
- TasBasher all participants in TasBash
- Entrant is a registered team including the Captain
- Variety Tasmania CEO and TasBash Director has the overruling decision on the final selection of entrants in TasBash. This ensures a rejected or banned past participant/s do not re-entre under a different team name or as part of a different crew. The decision is final and Variety Tasmania is not required to enter into any negotiation or correspondence.
- Entrants are not to operate bank accounts for the purpose of fundraising using the name of the Variety, Variety Tasmania, Bash, TasBash, Bash Car, TasBash Car or any combination thereof.
- Any vehicle entered in TasBash must be registered, insured, licensed and roadworthy as prescribed by State Laws.
- There is no age restriction on the vehicle that can participate in TasBash. Teams should have an appropriate theme. The more popular your theme is the more likely you will attract sponsorship and donations.
- Motorcycles, buses, coaches, caravans, skateboards and motorised wheelbarrows are prohibited on TasBash. Special conditions apply to support vehicles.
- High Performance modifications need to be cleared with Variety Tasmania CEO and TasBash Director prior to accepting entry.
- All vehicles must, at all times during the event, display the event sponsors’ stickers supplied by the Variety Tasmania Office.
- Provisions and fees:
- Registration Fee: $300 +GST per team.
- Provision Fee: per person - covers the cost of lunches, dinners, awards dinner entertainment, plaques, t-shirt, and door decals. Please refer to the Provision Form for costing.
- Minimum fundraising requirement: $2,700 per team.
- Each Team should strive to raise as many funds as possible, beyond the minimum schedule. Team tallies are open until the last Friday before the start of TasBash. Tallies are used to determine TasBash Fundraising Awards.
- Each team is entitled to have their own tally confidential to other teams if they wish, but must not be confidential information to fellow team members.
- Any funds raised after the tally count cut-off date will be counted into that Team’s tally for the following year. Of course, with everything TasBash, an exception might be granted by Variety Tasmania CEO if counting late donations would mean a team qualifies for a higher fundraising tier.
- All money raised in the name of Variety and/or TasBash and/or Bash is due and must be deposited with Variety Tasmania as soon as practicable after you receive the funds.
- Both the Registration Fee and donations received from fundraising activities are non-refundable.
- All payments must be paid to Variety - the Children’s Charity Tent 78 Tasmania Inc ABN 22 532 462 253 in accordance with the payment schedule.
- All funds raised in the name of Variety and/or TasBash and/or Bash carried out by any team or individual must be passed on to Variety Tasmania in full. The fundraiser organiser is only allowed to deduct out-of-pocket expenses borne by external expenses for organising the event. This may include the cost of hiring venues, equipment, or entertainment. The organiser must not, at any time, take advantage of the public generosity and pay themselves or their associates for their time or the use of their contacts. If this proved to be the case, it may result in an instant disqualification.
- Variety Tasmania does not provide any taxation advice and makes no representations concerning the income tax deductibility or any entitlement to an input tax credit for any fees or contributions made to Variety Tasmania. The Entrant should seek and obtain his or her own independent accounting or legal advice concerning all such matters.
- All Entrants and anyone taking part in TasBash, in any way, must complete and submit to the Variety Tasmania Office ALL documentation advised by Variety Tasmania (which includes, but is not limited to, the Registration Form, Participant Indemnity, Vehicle Indemnity Form, Crew Form, Personal Medical Information Form, Code of Conduct, Rules and Regulations, Participation Provisions Payment Form, Social Media Policy, Police Check Form (valid for two years), Evidence of a valid Working with Vulnerable People Registration (or interstate equivalent).
- Team Captain must coordinate with their Crew Members to ensure their completion of all required documentation relating to TasBash and is responsible for submitting those to Variety Tasmania by the dates listed on the Document Checklist. In the event a Team Captain completes and signs a document (or documents) on behalf of another crew member/s, the Team Captain attests that he or she has the consent of the crew member/s to do so.
- TasBashers must always abide by the road rules and in accordance with State laws and statutes.
- TasBashers must, always, observe all rules, regulations and vehicle specifications as issued by Variety Tasmania.
- Every TasBasher must comply with the TasBash Code of Conduct.
- TasBashers, their associates, supporters and sponsors must not carry out any fundraising activity which may bring Variety Tasmania and/or TasBash name in disrepute or cause Variety Tasmania to breach any statutory requirements.
- The Variety Tasmania or TasBash name or logo can only be used for fundraising activities after obtaining prior written consent from Variety Tasmania CEO.
- The Entrant indemnifies Variety Tasmania against any penalty or liability Variety Tasmania may incur because of any conduct of a TasBasher.
- Variety Tasmania reserves the right to conduct random breath and drug testing of drivers at any point during the TasBash.
- As outlined in the Variety Tasmania Soft Credit Policy, soft credits will be attributed to your fundraising total to qualify for bronze, silver, gold, or platinum. Soft credits cannot be counted towards the minimum fundraising entry requirement.
Variety Tasmania’s decisions and rulings are final and binding on all Applications, Team Captains, and Crew Members.
